Hymn of St. Nersess the Graceful

Hymn of St. Nersess the Graceful

O Morning of light, O thou righteous Sun, shed on me thy light. O Father’s Spirit, pour forth from my soul, words pleasing to thee.

Treasure of mercy, of thy hidden wealth, make me a finder. The door of mercy, open thou for me, with angels rank me.

Triune unity, provider of all, have mercy on me. Lord arise to help, make me, the benumbed, awake like angels.

Father eternal, consubstantial Son, immortal Spirit. Receive me, good Lord, receive merciful, lover of mankind.

O King of glories, that forgivest all, forgive my offense. Gatherer of the good, gather me likewise, with the bands of saints

I implore thee Lord, that lovest mankind, grant health to my soul. Be thou life for me, lighten my dark soul, and dispel my pains.

Knower of counsels, to my darkened mind, give enlightened thoughts. O thou Father’s Son, on my sombrous soul, shed thy glorious light.

Life-giving Savior, quicken my dead self, lift me from my fall. Ground me in the faith, make me firm in hope, establish in love.

I ask with my voice, with my hands I beg, give me thy good gifts. With thy brilliant lamp, O skillful pilot, hearten this coward.

Jesus, love by name, crush thou with thy love, my cold stony heart. For thy mercy’s sake, in thy compassion, make me live again.

Of thy vision Lord, assuage my desire, beloved Christ Jesus. Heavenly teacher, join this disciple, to celestial bands.

With thy blood as dew, Lord bedew my soul, that I may rejoice. Languishing in sin, wearily I beg, Lord, make me do good.

O savior of all, from the temptations, of sins rescue me. O cleanser of sins, cleanse me, that I may, sing glory to thee.

By the intercession of the holy Mother of God.

Remember us, Lord, and have mercy on us.

We thank you, O Lord our God, for having granted us restful sleep in peace. Having awakened us, you have brought us together early in the morning to worship your awe-inspiring and glorious, holy name. Lord, we ask you to lead us through the remainder of this [day] in peace. And throughout the entire pilgrimage of our lives, strengthen and protect us in the fear of you. So that with good heed, living a blameless and religious life in this world, we may arrive at your safe and peaceful harbor of eternal life. By the grace and love of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. To Him, with you, Father, and your Holy Spirit is befitting glory, lordship and honor. Now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Peace be with all.

And with your spirit.

Let us bow down to God.

Before you, O Lord.

Beneficent Lord, in your mercy look down upon us, who worship and glorify your holy name. Lord of hosts, give us peace and protect us against every satanic affliction and worldly distraction. Send us your angel of peace to come and keep us untroubled day and night, in our waking and sleeping hours.

So that serving you devoutly and worthily in this life, O Lord, we may attain your eternal, heavenly kingdom, which you have prepared from the beginning for your saints. And with them we shall thankfully glorify the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Blessed be our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Be blessed by the grace of the Holy Spirit. Depart in peace and may the Lord be with you all. Amen.
